Simple model of bouncing ball dynamics. Displacement of the limiter assumed as a cubic function of time
Nonlinear dynamics of a bouncing ball moving vertically in a gravitational
field and colliding with a moving limiter is considered and the Poincare map,
describing evolution from an impact to the next impact, is described.
Displacement of the limiter is assumed as periodic, cubic function of time. Due
to simplicity of this function analytical computations are possible. Several
dynamical modes, such as fixed points, 2 - cycles and chaotic bands are studied
analytically and numerically. It is shown that chaotic bands are created from
fixed points after first period doubling in a corner-type bifurcation. Equation
for the time of the next impact is solved exactly for the case of two
subsequent impacts occurring in the same period of limiter's motion making
analysis of chattering possible.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure, presented at the DSTA 2011 conference, Lodz,

Simple model of bouncing ball dynamics: displacement of the table assumed as quadratic function of time
Nonlinear dynamics of a bouncing ball moving in gravitational field and
colliding with a moving limiter is considered. Displacement of the limiter is a
quadratic function of time. Several dynamical modes, such as fixed points, 2 -
cycles and chaotic bands are studied analytically and numerically. It is shown
that chaotic bands appear due to homoclinic structures created from unstable 2
- cycles in a corner-type bifurcation.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
Projekt silnika rakietowego na ekologiczne ciekłe materiały pędne
Praca przedstawia projekt rozwoju ekologicznego silnika rakietowego wykorzystującego wysoko stężony nadtlenek wodoru jako utleniacz i węglowodory jako paliwo. Projekt realizowany
Metamorphoses of resonance curves in systems of coupled oscillators
We study dynamics of two coupled periodically driven oscillators in a general case and compare
it with two simplified models. Periodic steady-state solutions to these system equations
are determined within the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky approach. Amplitude profiles are
computed. These two equations, each describing a surface, define a 3D curve – intersection
of these surfaces. In the present paper, we analyse metamorphoses of amplitude profiles
induced by changes of control parameters in three dynamical systems studied. It is shown
that changes of the dynamics occur in the vicinity of singular points of these 3D curves
Sounding rocket development in Poland
This paper presents an overview of small sounding rockets developed at Warsaw University of Technology with support from the Institute of Aviation. The history of Polish rocketry is
discussed and the resulting Small Sounding Rocket Program ultimate goals are presented. All of the rockets are propelled using solid rocket motors. They are built using an innovative technology of composite combustion chamber manufacturing, what allows achieving very high propellant mass fractions of the developed motors. Some of them are reusable. Two main program elements are presented – the simple in-flight-experimentation platforms named “Amelia” and the „H”
family of rockets dedicated to professional use. A sounding rocket capable of flying to altitudes of about 100 kilometres is also mentioned. The ultimate aim of the program is to develop a mobile system enabling launches of small experimentation modules, while maintaining relatively low costs and easy system utilization. In this paper, the possibility of using the knowledge gained and selected technical solutions is emphasized. The program is to enable future development of small satellite launchers in Poland
